Abstract

Skin moisture is an important indicator of skin condition. Commercial measurement instruments are relatively expensive and less accessible for research and simple monitoring. This study aims to develop a skin moisture detection system using a capacitive sensor, ESP32 microcontroller, and Google Sheets for cloud-based data storage. The Research and Development (R&D) method was employed through hardware design, software development, system implementation, and performance testing. Sensor data were processed using trimmed mean, median filter, deadband, and Exponential Moving Average (EMA) to improve measurement stability. The processed data were converted into moisture percentages, displayed on an SSD1306 OLED, and transmitted automatically to Google Sheets via WiFi using Google Apps Script. The results show that the system can measure skin moisture in real time, classify skin conditions as dry, normal, or moist, and automatically store measurement data. The system provides a low-cost IoT-based prototype for skin moisture monitoring.
