Conceptual Design of a Portable Bicycle Carrier for Motorcycles Based on User Preferences Using the Kano Method

Cyclists in Sidoarjo still face mobility constraints when transporting bicycles over relatively long distances or through certain road conditions. Conventional methods, such as manually tying a bicycle to a vehicle, are considered less practical and may reduce riding safety. The analysis showed that all tested attributes were classified as Attractive. This indicates that the presence of these attributes can improve user satisfaction, although their absence does not necessarily cause high dissatisfaction. The highest Better coefficient was found in ergonomic design at 0.871, followed by bicycle load capacity at 0.806 and ease of installation and removal at 0.774. Meanwhile, the most negative Worse coefficient was found in usability across various road conditions at -0.129. Therefore, ergonomics, practicality, reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance should be considered in further product development.
