Differences in Hepatic ALP and Gamma GT Levels of Male White Rats (Rattus norvegicus) Induced by Toxic Doses of Paracetamol by Giving of Turi Bark Extract (Sesbania grandiflora (L.) Pers.)

Liver damage due to paracetamol overdose can be characterized by increased levels of ALP and Gamma GT. This study aims to determine the effect of administering white turi bark extract (Sesbania grandiflora (L.) Pers.) on ALP and Gamma GT levels in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced by toxic doses of paracetamol. This type of research used quantitative experimental laboratory methods with 28 male white mice, and were divided into seven different treatment groups Kn (Normal control), K- (Negative control), K+1, K+2, P1 (Treatment 1), P2 (Treatment 2) and P3 (Treatment 3). Turi bark was obtained from Balongbendo, Sidoarjo with extract doses of 500, 750, 1000mg/kgbb. By administering white turi bark extract, it was able to reduce Alp and Gamma GT levels in mice with liver damage. This research indicates that white turi stem bark extract can act as a hepatoprotective agent in overcoming liver damage due to paracetamol toxicity.
