Analysis of Power Consumption for Salt Production Stoves at Solar Power Plants and Required PV Capacity

Abstract

Indonesia as a maritime country, has significant potential for salt production; however, traditional methods heavily depend on weather conditions and require long processing times. This study investigates the use of a solar power plant (PLTS)-based electric stove as an alternative to improve efficiency and production continuity. A digital wattmeter is utilized to monitor real-time electrical parameters, including voltage, current, power, power factor, and energy consumption. The analysis focuses on power consumption, compatibility between PLTS capacity and stove load, energy transfer efficiency, and system stability. The results are expected to demonstrate that utilizing solar energy can reduce dependence on conventional electricity, enhance energy efficiency, and provide a sustainable solution for salt production processes.
