Abstract

This study was motivated by the suboptimal implementation of character education in elementary schools, which still tends to focus on cognitive aspects and fails to integrate local wisdom in a contextual manner. Although the “7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children” program has been developed as a character-building strategy, studies specifically examining its implementation based on local wisdom remain limited. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the program, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and examine its contribution to student character development. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that program implementation occurs through routine practices, teacher modeling, and the integration of local wisdom values, yet is influenced by family involvement and the use of technology.
