Abstract

This observation aimed to identify the diversity of macroscopic fungi along the hiking trail of Madu Valley Forest, Mount Limas, Pasuruan Regency. The study used exploration and line transect methods with purposive sampling at two plots located at 900 and 990 meters above sea level. Data were collected through direct observation of fungal morphology, substrate characteristics, and environmental factors such as temperature, light intensity, and soil pH. The results showed 11 species of macroscopic fungi consisting of 9 Basidiomycota and 2 Ascomycota species. Environmental conditions supported fungal growth, with temperatures of 23–24°C, light intensity of 605–2440 lux, and soil pH of 6.5–7. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index was 2.09 in plot 1 and 1.69 in plot 2, indicating moderate diversity. Fungal presence was influenced by environmental conditions and substrate availability, especially rotting wood and leaf litter.
