Abstract

This research examines the use of a Read-Aloud method grounded in emergent literacy to enhance the reading abilities of second-grade students in elementary school. While earlier research has demonstrated the quantitative benefits of Read-Aloud sessions, most studies have primarily concentrated on results. A thorough examination of the stages involved (pre-reading, while-reading, and post-reading) and their connection to both the outside-in and inside-out aspects of emergent literacy is still scarce, particularly in public elementary schools in Indonesia. This qualitative case investigation was carried out at SDN Lemahputro 1 Sidoarjo. Information was gathered through observations, semi-structured interviews with the second-grade teacher, and document analysis, and was then evaluated using the Miles and Huberman framework.
