Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of an Augmented Reality (AR)-based pop-up book learning resource entitled ‘Adventures Exploring the Riches of My Country’ as an innovative approach to enhancing primary school pupils’ understanding of Indonesia’s cultural diversity. This learning resource consists of eight pages, some of which feature 3D pop-up illustrations combined with an Augmented Reality application, QR codes, and audio or music that pupils can listen to, making it more interactive; there is also a quiz at the end of each page. In this era of rapid technological development in the 21st century, an Augmented Reality-based pop-up book can serve as a tool for introducing Indonesian culture to primary school children, making the process more innovative and interactive. It is hoped that this will help students better understand local culture and foster a high level of tolerance and global diversity.
