Design and Development of Monitoring the Effectiveness of Wireless Charger in Smartphone Battery Charging

Abstract

Wireless charging technology offers greater convenience, but its efficiency compared to wired charging remains debated. This study analyzes its effectiveness based on charging speed, energy efficiency, and device temperature using a quantitative experimental method on several smartphones. Instruments include a wireless charger module, USB tester, and DHT22 sensor. Results show wired charging achieves a higher rate (1.465 %/minute) than wireless charging (0.605 %/minute). Wireless charging also generates more heat due to energy loss during electromagnetic induction. However, it provides stable power delivery with low variation and greater practicality. Thus, its efficiency is relative, depending on usage context and technological development.
