Analysis of Students' Reading Interest Through Literacy Habit Formation Programs in Elementary Schools
Analisis Minat Baca Peserta Didik Melalui Program Pembiasaan Literasi di Sekolah Dasar

This study aims to describe students’ reading interest through a literacy habituation program in grade IV at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Tulangan and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with source triangulation to ensure validity. The results show that students’ reading interest is in the moderate category. The literacy habituation program, including 15-minute pre-lesson reading, reading corners, book rotation, library visits, rewards, and mobile library services, positively affects students’ reading engagement. Supporting factors include reward systems, collaboration with mobile libraries, and literacy competitions, while inhibiting factors include limited time allocation and low intrinsic motivation. These findings suggest strengthening program consistency, optimizing facilities, and enhancing students’ intrinsic motivation for sustainability.
