Abstract

Bags are one of the fashion products that serve not only as storage tools but also as appearance enhancers. Along with the increasing market demand, product quality problems still frequently occur, particularly in the form of defects during the production process. A leather bag manufacturing company serves both the local and international markets. In 2024, PT XYZ recorded a total production of 21,686 pcs with defective products amounting to 864 pcs or about 4% of total production. This study aims to identify the highest types of defects, their causes, and provide improvement proposals to enhance quality. The methods used in this study are Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and Six Sigma. SQC is used to analyze the defect rate and identify the main causes of product defects, while Six Sigma is used to measure process capability levels and design improvements through the DMAIC approach.
