Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the combined application of foliar fertilizer and silica fertilizer on the growth and yield of tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum). The research was conducted at the experimental field of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo from December 2025 to March 2026. The experiment used a factorial Randomized Block Design with two factors: foliar fertilizer concentrations (1, 2, and 3 cc/L) and silica fertilizer concentrations (1, 2, and 3 cc/L). Observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, number of flowers, number of fruits, fruit weight, and harvest index. The results showed that the interaction between foliar and silica fertilizers significantly affected plant height, leaf area, and stem diameter at certain stages. Foliar fertilizer alone significantly influenced leaf number, fruit number, and harvest index. Overall, increasing foliar fertilizer concentration improved vegetative growth and tended to enhance tomato yield and overall plant performance significantly.
