Character education is essential in elementary schools as it shapes students’ attitudes, values, and behaviors. This study aims to examine the role of teachers in implementing character education at SD Negeri Sepande. The research uses a quantitative approach with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population consists of fourth-grade students, with samples selected through random sampling. The instrument used is a science learning achievement test. Data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and independent t-tests. The results show that the cooperative learning model type Make a Match assisted by picture card media has a positive and significant effect on students’ science learning outcomes. This is indicated by higher average scores in the experimental class compared to the control class. Therefore, the Make a Match model is effective in improving students’ activeness and learning outcomes in elementary science learning.
