Abstract

Mathematical literacy is an individual's ability to reason, formulate, and employ mathematical concepts in real-life contexts to solve problems. However, study results show that the mathematical literacy of elementary school students in Indonesia is still relatively low. This study aims to enhance students' mathematical literacy by developing a hypothetical learning trajectory based on the traditional game Dakon. The method used was design research with three stages: preliminary design, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis. The study was conducted on 20 fourth-grade students in one of the elementary schools in Sidoarjo Regency, with data collection techniques in the form of observation, Student Worksheets, and documentation. Data were analyzed qualitatively by paying attention to learning activities and achievement of mathematical literacy indicators. The results showed that the hypothetical learning trajectory approach based on Dakon games effectively enhances elementary school students' mathematical literacy.
