Abstract

Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) are a horticultural commodity whose seed quality is greatly influenced by environmental storage conditions, especially temperature and humidity. Uncontrolled storage can cause a decrease in seed viability, weight loss, and an increased risk of rot. This research aims to design and build an Internet of Things (IoT) based onion seed storage system with automatic room temperature control to improve the quality and storability of the seeds. The system is designed using a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller as the main controller, a DHT22 sensor for monitoring temperature and humidity, a load cell sensor for monitoring changes in seed weight, and a fan and servo motor as actuators to control air circulation. Monitoring data is sent in real-time to the Blynk application via an internet connection so that it can be accessed and monitored remotely.
