The Effectiveness of Academic Supervision in Achieving Student Mastery learning: A Case Study at TPQ Pagi Roudlotut Tholibin in Pasuruan Regency

This study examines the effectiveness of academic supervision in improving student learning outcomes through a mastery learning approach at TPQ Roudlotut Tholibin, Pasuruan Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that while formal supervision has not been optimally implemented, informal supervision and strong teacher commitment support key mastery learning principles, including goal setting, continuous assessment, and individualized instruction. Teachers demonstrate dedication in enhancing instructional quality and fostering a conducive religious learning environment. The study highlights the need for a more structured supervision system and ongoing professional development to strengthen learning outcomes. With improved supervision practices, TPQ Roudlotut Tholibin has the potential to become a model for Qur’anic education based on academic supervision and mastery learning.
