Abstract

This study aims toidentify and analyze the writing difficulties faced by first-grade studentsat Putat Public Elementary School, Sidoarjo. Using aqualitative case study approach, data were obtained through observation of the learning process, interviews withteachers and students, and documentation of students' The results of the study show that students experience several major obstacles, namely inaccuracy in letter formation, difficulty in distinguishingbetween similar letters, instability in writing size, errors in copying words, and low concentratiwriting. on when writing. Internal factors that contributeto these obstacles include weak fine motor skills, limited visual
memory, and a fear of making mistakes that inhibits the writing process. External factorsthat trigger this condition include a lack of literacy stimulus at home anda suboptimal learning environment, which also affect students' writing abilities. This study concludes that improvingbeginning writing skills requires more targeted learning strategies, individual assistance, and intensive cooperation between teachers and parents.
