Gadget Use and Academic Achievement in Students with High Learning Achievement

Penggunaan Gadget dan Prestasi Akademik pada Siswa dengan Capaian Belajar Tinggi

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between gadget use and academic achievement among students with high learning performance. Gadgets are increasingly utilized as interactive learning tools because they provide broad access to information and promote flexible learning experiences. The research applied a quantitative approach, with data collected through a structured questionnaire on gadget use and documentation of students’ academic scores. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The results indicate that students’ academic achievement is categorized as high, with relatively consistent score variations. Although gadget use shows a positive and unidirectional relationship with academic achievement, the magnitude of its effect is small and statistically insignificant. These findings suggest that responsible and well-controlled gadget use can support the learning process without negatively impacting academic achievement, particularly among students who already demonstrate strong academic performance.
