Students’ English language skills were found to be inadequate based on preliminary observations conducted at an elementary school in Sidoarjo. To address this problem, the researchers implemented flashcard media. This study aimed to explore fifth-grade students’ perceptions of the role of flashcards in vocabulary learning. A qualitative research design was employed using semi-structured interviews as the main instrument. The participants consisted of 28 fifth-grade students (20 females and 8 males) selected through purposive sampling. The interview included 13 general questions, and the collected data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s framework. The findings revealed that 26 students expressed positive perceptions, reporting increased engagement, motivation, and memory retention, while two students noted minor difficulties with complex words. The results indicate that flashcards are perceived as effective tools for enhancing vocabulary mastery through interactive learning experiences.
